Ingredients

Whole milk solids (low lactose), whey protein, casein, glucose, vegetable oils, omega-3 & 6 fatty acids, and a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals including:
Vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, B12, C, D3, E, K, biotin, choline, inositol;
Minerals: calcium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, magnesium, zinc, iron, manganese, copper, iodine, selenium.

Preparation Instructions

To prepare 100mL of milk:
Mix 21g powder (approx. 3 scoops) with 85mL warm, pre-boiled water.

To prepare 1 litre:
Mix 210g powder with 850mL warm water. Add half the water to the powder, stir into a paste, then add the remainder and mix thoroughly. Avoid excessively hot or cold water to prevent curdling or clumping. Use an electric whisk for large batches.

Prepared milk can be refrigerated for 24 hours or frozen for up to two weeks in small portions (e.g. ice cube trays). Thaw only what’s needed, discard any leftovers, and clean feeding tools thoroughly.

Feeding Guide

• Warm milk to approximately 30°C. Feed using a shallow rubber bowl or directly from the palm of your hand.

• Feeding interval: every 36 hours. Increase interval as the puggle grows.

• Hydration: Offer water between feeds, especially in hot weather. Avoid exposure to temperatures above 30°C to prevent dehydration.

• Use colostrum supplement (e.g., Impact®) in the first few days for added immune support.

• Monitor for proper suckling. If puggle fails to feed after 3 days, tube feeding may be necessary (consult a vet or experienced wildlife carer).

Growth & Weighing

Refer to the Echidna Growth Chart to track weight gains. Weigh puggles before feeds to calculate accurate milk volumes. Overfeeding may lead to diarrhoea.

Transition to Late Lactation Milk

Start the transition around 30 days of age, or when the puggle reaches ~90g and 115mm body length. Mix Early and Late Lactation milk in gradually changing ratios over 2–3 weeks. This coincides with the onset of spine development.
