Wombaroo Wombat Milk Replacer >0.6 – Late Lactation Formula
Specialised milk formula for wombat joeys beyond 60% of pouch life.
As joeys begin to fur, explore outside the pouch, and transition to solid foods, Wombaroo >0.6 Milk Replacer supports their changing nutritional needs with a formula that closely replicates the composition of natural wombat milk during late lactation.
Why Choose Wombaroo >0.6 Milk Replacer?
-
Ideal for older joeys: Designed for wombat joeys that have completed more than 60% of pouch life and are entering the weaning stage.
-
Formulated for late lactation: High in protein and energy, low in carbohydrates to support growth, activity, and dietary transition.
-
Supports healthy development: Aids in deterring dehydration, preventing breakage in fur, and building gut flora as solid foods are introduced.
-
No build-up: Leaves no residue in fur or digestive system.
How to Use
Mixing Instructions:
-
To make 100 mL: Mix 25 g of powder (approx. 3½ scoops) with 80 mL of warm, pre-boiled water.
-
To make 1 Litre: Mix 250 g of powder with 800 mL of warm, pre-boiled water.
Preparation Tips:
-
Add half the water to the powder first and mix to a smooth paste.
-
Add the remaining water and stir thoroughly.
-
Avoid using water that is too hot (may cause curdling) or too cold (difficult to dissolve).
-
Use an electric whisk for large batches.
Storage:
-
Prepared milk can be refrigerated for 24 hours or frozen for up to 2 weeks.
-
Store in small portions (e.g., ice cube trays) for convenience.
-
Discard any thawed milk that isn’t used and thoroughly clean feeding equipment.
Feeding Guidelines
-
Warm milk to approximately 30°C.
-
Feed using a bottle and appropriate teat (e.g., LD or FM Teat).
-
Start with 4 feeds per day and gradually reduce to 2 feeds daily as the joey progresses.
-
The high energy formula allows for reduced feeding volume and frequency—helping avoid carer imprinting.
-
Provide fresh water at all times, especially as the joey becomes more active.
Tip: Joeys at this stage benefit from access to fresh dirt and native browse, which supports gut flora development and weaning onto a natural diet.
