NexGard Red is a powerful monthly oral treatment designed specifically for extra-large dogs weighing 25–50kg. Trusted by Australian pet owners and veterinarians, NexGard provides fast-acting and long-lasting protection against a wide range of external parasites, including fleas, ticks (paralysis, bush, and brown dog ticks), mites, and lice.
This tasty, beef-flavoured chew is easy to administer, mess-free, and loved by dogs. Unlike spot-on treatments, NexGard is not affected by bathing, swimming, or shampooing, ensuring continuous parasite protection all month long.

How NexGard Works
NexGard contains Afoxolaner, a highly effective ectoparasiticide. Once ingested, it quickly enters your dog’s bloodstream, killing parasites on contact when they attempt to feed. Afoxolaner acts fast, eliminating fleas before they lay eggs, and providing powerful protection against ticks and mites for a full month.
Dosage & Administration
- Pack colour: Red
- Dog weight range: 25.1–50kg
- Tablet strength: 136mg Afoxolaner per chew
- Administration: Oral – can be given with or without food. Offer directly as a treat or mix with food, ensuring the full dose is consumed.
- Frequency: One chew every 30 days.
If your dog weighs over 50kg, combine chews to reach the correct dosage.
Safety & Suitability
- Safe for puppies from 8 weeks of age and weighing at least 2kg.
- Suitable for breeding, pregnant, and lactating females.
- Not recommended for pets with known allergies to Afoxolaner.
- Use with caution in dogs with a history of seizures—consult your veterinarian before starting treatment.

Nexguard caution.
By: Jane on 24 June 2019I've used this expensive product for years now as a safeguard against paralysis ticks, which are very active in my area. A note of caution here. On rare occasions I still find ticks will attach themselves to the animal. As an added precaution, i dose on a shorter interval than recomended. This also is no guarantee against attachment. The instruction on he box should be followed carefully, to inspect your animal regularly for the odd tick that can and will break through.

By: Jane on 2 January 2017I have an 8 year old boarder collie he has been taking this product for many years now and has never had any side effects. Before taking Nexgard he would be covered in fleas it was a never ending battle, the moment he started on Nexgard the fleas were gone in about two days as for ticks never had any problems living on the coast he was always clear after his daily check. I am very impressed with Nexgard.
