Feeding Guide
- Warm milk to approximately 30°C.
- Feed with a bottle and D Teat (fits standard soft drink bottle neck).
- Feed 4 times daily in week 1, 3 times daily in week 2, then reduce to 2 daily feeds.
- Offer clean water between feeds, especially in hot weather.
Note: Consult a vet or experienced carer for specific advice.
Growth Monitoring
Species-specific growth rates vary—refer to breed-specific guidelines. Weigh fawns regularly using accurate scales to track progress and ensure proper feeding volumes. Overfeeding can lead to diarrhoea.
Weaning
Start introducing high-quality herbage from 4 weeks of age to develop rumen function. Weaning typically occurs by 3 months of age, depending on the species. Gradually reduce milk as solid intake increases until fully weaned.
