Over the years we've had a number of budgies (parakeet-US) and a number of different designs of water feeder from the simple bowl to this Silo Waterer. This is by far the best. It looks similar to other products but has a number of advantages. 1. The clear reservoir can be refilled before it is empty as there is a valve as the bottom that stops water running out when you lift the reservoir, apart from the odd drop. The same applies after you've refilled the reservoir; just turn it up the right way (over the sink etc) and there will be a quick rush of water until the vacuum in the reservoir stops this. Then simply re-insert it into the holder, the valve then opens and the trough refills. 2. The trough can be cleaned by removing the reservoir, squeezing the sides of the round section and lifting out the trough assembly. 3. The attachment to the cage (vertical or horizontal bars) is with a flat plate and large thumbscrew and simply doesn't move once attached, and indeed there is no need to remove it unless you want a different location. Items 1. and 2. can be done from outside the cage. Again, the Silo Waterer is a great design from the U.S. and well manufactured in China.
