Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Hypoallergenic Small Dog is a complete veterinary diet specifically formulated for adult small dogs with adverse food reactions (AFR) presenting with dermatologic and/or gastrointestinal signs. Prescribed by veterinarians for the nutritional management of food sensitivities and allergies, this diet uses hydrolysed soy protein isolate of low molecular weight peptides - highly digestible protein that is less likely to trigger an allergic response - alongside a single source of carbohydrate (rice) to minimise the risk of dietary antigen exposure.
Specially adapted to meet the digestive, dental and urinary sensitivities of small dogs with a kibble sized and shaped for small jaws, this diet also contains essential fatty acids EPA and DHA to help maintain a healthy digestive system and support the skin's natural protective barrier. A precise nutrient balance helps regulate gastrointestinal transit and promote a healthy gut microbiome. It can also be used as part of a food elimination trial under veterinary supervision.
