Gentle Leader Medium Head Collar

The Gentle Leader Head Collar is often referred to as "The 10-Minute Attitude Adjuster" for a reason! This effective training tool helps your dog learn to walk calmly on the lead without pulling or jumping. By using light, gentle pressure on the muzzle and back of the neck, it mimics the natural guidance a mother dog would use with her puppies. This sends a clear message to your dog that you are in control. The Gentle Leader Head Collar still allows your dog to open its mouth fully for drinking, eating, panting, and barking, providing both comfort and control.

Sizing for Your Dog:

Medium (10-27kg): Fits dogs and puppies that will weigh 10-27kg when fully grown. Also works for smaller dogs with broader muzzles, such as Cocker Spaniels, Springers, Brittanys, Collies, Beagles, Airedales, Australian Shepherds, Samoyeds, Norwegian Elkhounds, Kelpies, Pointers, and Blue Heelers. Maximum neck measurement: 40cm.

The sizing for the Gentle Leader Head Collar is straightforward—simply choose based on your dog's approximate weight. However, certain breeds with notably large or small heads may need a size different from the weight range. All sizes are fully adjustable to fit a variety of breeds.

For Puppies:

Puppies of medium and large breeds can start using the Gentle Leader Head Collar at 8-10 weeks of age, beginning with a Medium size that they can wear until they reach 30kg. Puppies of large breeds over 20kg should start with a Large.

For Short-Snout Dogs:

The Gentle Leader Head Collar is also available in Medium and Large sizes, designed to fit breeds with shorter snouts such as Bulldogs and Boxers.

Fitting Your Dog:

1. Neck Loop: Ensure the Neck Loop is snug (like a belt or shoe), allowing only one finger to fit between the strap and the neck. It should rest high on the neck, directly behind the ears, and just above the Adam's apple.
2. Nose Loop: The Nose Loop should sit just in front of your dog's eyes and behind the corners of their mouth. It should move freely toward the fleshy part of their nose but should not be loose enough to come off.
3. Regular Checks: Especially on growing puppies, check the fit daily. The Neck Strap should be snug behind the ears, and the Nose Loop should be comfortable yet secure.

After your dog reaches their full size, you can trim the excess length of the Neck Strap. To avoid fraying, cut the strap with scissors and seal the cut edge with a flame.
