Exo Terra Self Regulating Heat Mat 30 x 20cm 16w

Exo Terra Self-Regulating Heat Mats

The Exo Terra Self-Regulating Heat Mat is a powerful and efficient conductive heat source designed for use with all glass terrariums. Utilizing advanced PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) carbon fiber heating technology, it provides consistent, uniform warmth that helps reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates regulate their body temperature—essential for digestion, metabolism, and overall activity.

Key Features:

• Self-Regulating Technology: Automatically maintains an optimal surface temperature, eliminating the risk of overheating and concentrated hot spots.

• Uniform Heat Distribution: Ensures even warming across the surface, promoting safe and effective thermoregulation.

• Fast Warm-Up Time: Heats up quickly for immediate comfort and efficiency.

• Improved Safety: Built-in automatic fail-safe mechanism provides extra protection against overheating.

• Highly Energy-Efficient: Converts over 95% of energy into usable heat, maximizing output while minimizing power consumption.

• Water Resistant (IPX6 Rated): Safe for humid or wet terrarium environments.

• Durable & Long-Lasting: Rugged construction ensures long-term performance.

• Self-Adhesive Backing: Easy to install—firmly adheres to the terrarium base for optimal heat transfer.

• Includes Rubber Spacers: Ensures proper airflow and installation safety.

Why Use a Heat Mat?

In the wild, cold-blooded animals absorb warmth from sun-heated surfaces. The Exo Terra Heat Mat replicates this natural thermal gradient by heating the terrarium substrate from below—essential for nocturnal species and those requiring belly heat.

For best results, pair with Exo Terra Basking Spot Lamps. The combination of radiant infrared-A heat and conductive heat allows reptiles to maintain a healthy temperature range. The Basking Spot also emits UVA light to support overall well-being and breeding behavior.

Compatibility:

• Works as a primary or supplemental 24-hour heat source

• Ideal as a nighttime heat solution

• Compatible with Exo Terra Thermostats and other heating devices for high-temperature species

Available Sizes:

• PT2031 – 4W – 18 x 10 cm (7” x 4”) – for 1–5 gallon tanks

• PT2032 – 8W – 20 x 15 cm (8” x 6”) – for 10–20 gallon tanks

• PT2033 – 16W – 30 x 20 cm (12” x 8”) – for 30–40 gallon tanks

• PT2034 – 24W – 45 x 20 cm (18” x 8”) – for 50–60 gallon tanks

* Important Note: Always provide cooler zones in the enclosure. A proper thermal gradient ensures your animals can regulate their body temperature effectively, promoting better health and comfort.
