Zoo Med Hermit Crab Sand

Zoo Med Hermit Crab Sand – Enriched Calcium Carbonate Substrate for Hermit Crabs

Zoo Med Hermit Crab Sand is specially formulated to support the health and well-being of your hermit crab by providing a safe, natural, and enriching environment. Made from pure calcium carbonate, this sand not only creates a comfortable substrate for burrowing and nesting, but also serves as a beneficial dietary calcium source that contributes to healthy shell growth and overall vitality.

Ideal for both beginner and experienced hermit crab keepers, this sand mimics the natural coastal environment your pet crabs would experience in the wild. Its fine texture is gentle on delicate bodies and perfect for digging, which is an important part of a hermit crab’s instinctual behavior.

Key Features:

• Calcium-Rich Formula: Provides a valuable source of dietary calcium to support healthy exoskeleton development and molting.

• Encourages Natural Behaviors: Perfect for burrowing, hiding, and digging—important activities for your crab's physical and mental stimulation.

• Safe & Digestible: Made from non-toxic, fine-grade sand that is safe if ingested during feeding or grooming.

• Vibrant Color Options: Available in eye-catching colors to brighten up your hermit crab habitat—choose from White or Green to suit your style.

• Easy to Maintain: Helps with odor control and is easy to clean and replace as needed.

How to Use:

1. Pour a layer of 2–3 inches (5–8cm) of sand into your crab’s enclosure.

2. Ensure the sand is slightly moist (not wet) to allow proper burrowing.

3. Spot clean daily and replace the sand every 1–2 months or as needed to maintain hygiene.
