Feeding Instructions

As a Hand Rearing Food

1. Rehydrate newly hatched chicks with a suitable electrolyte solution before feeding.
2. Mixing Ratio:

• Use warm pre-boiled water (approx. 50°C)

• Mix thoroughly with powder (see species-specific charts for exact ratios)

• Let the mix stand for 2 minutes to absorb moisture, then remix

1. Feeding Temperature: 38–40°C
2. Feeding Method: Use a spoon or syringe with care to avoid aspiration. Feed until the crop is comfortably full.
3. Crop Management: Ensure at least one full crop emptying every 24 hours—allow a 6-hour overnight fasting period.
4. Hygiene: Clean utensils and feeding equipment thoroughly after each use. Prepare fresh mix for every feed.

Growth Monitoring

Track chick weight daily to ensure healthy growth and adequate nutrition. Regular weighing helps adjust feed volume and monitor overall wellbeing. Reference growth charts are available for various species.

As a Supplement for Adults

Ideal for breeding birds or as a nutritional boost for sick or malnourished adults.

Fruit & Vegetable Mix:

• Mix 1 level scoop of Granivore Rearing Mix with 20g of diced fruit or vegetables.

• Suitable for parrots, pigeons, and frugivores.

• Prepare and serve fresh daily.

Egg Food Mix:

• Combine 2 scoops of rearing mix with 1 teaspoon of bread or biscuit crumbs and 1 mashed, hard-boiled egg.

• Mix gently to a moist, crumbly texture.

• Feed to canaries, finches, and breeding birds.

• Prepare fresh daily and discard any leftovers.
