Feeding Preparation & Instructions

Important Notes:

• Always prepare fresh Neocare formula before each feed.
• Never reheat or reuse leftover formula.
• Do not microwave—this can cause dangerous “hot spots” and crop burns.
• Always mix using a fork, not a spoon, to ensure smooth consistency.

Neonate / Transition Feeding:

1. Mix 2 small level scoops of Neocare with 1 large scoop and 1 small scoop of boiling water.
2. Stir thoroughly with a fork until smooth and lump-free.
3. Gradually thicken formula over the first 48 hours of feeding.

Regular Feeding:

1. Mix 1 large scoop of Neocare with 1 large scoop of boiling water. Stir thoroughly.
2. Add 3 small scoops of cool water. Mix until a smooth, consistent texture is achieved.
3. Ensure formula is between 38–41°C before feeding to prevent crop burns and indigestion.

Feeding Frequency Guidelines

• Feed your baby birds between 5–6am (first feed) and 10–11pm (last feed).
• Once every 24 hours, allow the crop to empty completely.
• Feeding frequency and volume vary by species and age—consult your avian vet or refer to species-specific guidelines.
• Record your bird’s weight daily before the first feed to monitor healthy growth.
