Breeding Aid – Essential Fatty Acids & Vitamins for Breeding Birds

Promote strong, healthy chicks with Breeding Aid, a specialised nutritional supplement formulated to support egg membrane development, fertility, hatchability, and chick growth in breeding birds. Ideal for seed-fed birds, this powerful oil-based supplement delivers a concentrated source of essential fatty acids along with key vitamins to ensure optimal reproductive success and early development.

Why Use Breeding Aid?

Healthy membranes are critical for embryo survival and chick vitality. Birds on seed-based diets often lack access to essential fatty acids required for proper egg membrane formation, immune development, and early growth. Breeding Aid fills this gap by supplying vital nutrients that contribute to successful breeding outcomes and healthier offspring.

Key Benefits:

Supports Egg Membrane Development
Enriched with linoleic, palmitic, and oleic acids, this formula ensures strong, flexible egg membranes to support embryo viability and reduce early chick mortality.

Promotes Chick Growth & Immunity
Provides a rich source of essential fatty acids to aid in the healthy development of chicks post-hatch, supporting immune function and rapid growth.

Enhances Reproductive Function
Includes vital fat-soluble vitamins for breeding birds:

  • Vitamin A for cellular development and reproductive health

  • Vitamin D3 for improved calcium absorption, bone development, and egg formation

  • Vitamin E, a potent antioxidant, to protect and stabilise cell membranes during the reproductive cycle

Ideal for Seed-Based Diets
Birds on dry seed diets are prone to deficiencies in essential fatty acids and vitamins. Breeding Aid is designed to complement seed diets, especially for small bird species like finches, canaries, and budgerigars that lay multiple eggs or have frequent clutches.

Directions for Use:

  1. Mix 20mL of Breeding Aid per 1kg of seed (or 1½ fl oz. per 5lb of seed).
  2. Combine thoroughly by hand to ensure even coating.
  3. Let the treated seed sit for 12 to 24 hours to allow maximum absorption before feeding.

Tip: You can prepare seed batches in advance to last up to 7 days. Store any unused treated seed in an airtight container in the refrigerator and use within one week. Discard seed not consumed within this period.

Recommended Use:

  • For use with all breeding birds on seed diets
  • Especially beneficial for high-yield egg layers or birds producing multiple clutches
  • Safe for use in aviaries, breeding programs, or pet bird environments
