Tri-Solfen Wound Anaesthetic & Antiseptic Solution
Tri-Solfen Wound Anaesthetic & Antiseptic Solution is a 4-in-1 topical anaesthetic and antiseptic gel spray providing rapid, long-lasting pain relief, reduced bleeding, infection control and enhanced wound healing. It is the only product registered in Australia for sheep and cattle with all four modes of action, making it unrivalled for routine husbandry and surgical wound care.
Active Ingredients
- Lignocaine 40.6 g/L – immediate local anaesthetic
- Bupivacaine 4.2 g/L – prolonged pain relief
- Adrenaline 24.8 mg/L – reduces bleeding, prolongs anaesthetic effect
- Cetrimide 5 g/L – antiseptic for bacterial control

Directions of Use
Use of the dedicated Tri-Solfen applicator is recommended.
Mulesing & Tail Docking (Lambs)
- Apply immediately after the procedure
- Ensure full coverage of wound and edges
- Do not spray to run-off
- Insecticidal mulesing treatments may be used afterwards (avoid high-volume sprays)
Mulesing Dose Guide:
- 5–10kg: 6mL
- 11–15kg: 8mL
- 16–20kg: 10mL
- >20kg: 12mL
Tail Docking (if done alone):
- <10kg: 1.5mL
- >10kg: 2mL
Castration (Lambs & Calves)
- Apply inside the scrotum before removing testicles
- One-third dose per spermatic cord + one-third to wound edges
Dose Guide:
- Lambs <10kg: 3mL
- Lambs >10kg: 4.5mL
- Calves 30–100kg: 6mL
- Calves >100kg: 9mL
Calf Disbudding / Dehorning
- Apply immediately after disbudding to fully coat the wound
- Repeat for second horn
- Prevent spray contact with eyes
Dose per Horn:
- Hot iron (calves <3 months): 4mL
- Scoop/cup/knife (calves >3 months): 4mL
Piglets
Tail Docking Dose:
- All weights: 0.5mL
Castration Dose:
- 1–2kg: 1.0mL
- 2–4kg: 2.0mL
- >4kg: 4.0mL
Horses – Superficial Skin Wounds
- Apply 1mL per 4cm² wound area
- Once daily for up to 7 days
- Do not exceed 80mL total
- Not for wounds near eyes, mouth or nostrils
