Purchased this for a non feeding purpose
By: Deb Wynd on 19 November 2021When I was looking for this product and came across the Vet Shed's listing (both website and eBay listings) the bowl was listed as being in stock. When I placed the order I was soon notified by customer service that the item was out of stock (and did I not notice mention of this in the listing?). Well I checked both listings and neither said the item was out of stock and that in fact there were several in stock. Obviously there was some disconnect between the front end and back end of the website. Anyway as I was not in any hurry for the item I was happy to leave the purchase on back order. I actually did not want this bowl as a water or feed bowl but in fact the dimensions matched my need for a round trick perch box (I needed my dog to be able to stand 2 feet on it). It appeared fairly solid and sturdy so I thought it would do the job. I eventually received the bowl several weeks later. It is not quite as solid in the sides as I would have liked and there is some give in the wall if pressure is placed on it but with a little modification it will serve my purpose. As a water or feed bowl it is substantial, large and heavy so not easily tipped over. It does have quite a strong rubber smell though and I don't know if this would taint the food or water in it. Maybe it will wear off. Does the job. Price was cheaper than other sites.
