Ranvet Lang’s Solution is a hypertonic intravenous infusion formulated for horses requiring rapid rehydration and restoration of body fluid reserves. It is particularly useful following long distance transport, heavy exercise or situations where horses are unwilling to drink.

This veterinarian-only product works by altering the blood profile from hypotonic contraction to hypertonic expansion, stimulating the thirst reflex and encouraging voluntary water intake to support effective rehydration.

Directions for Use

Administer the entire contents of one 500 mL pouch by intravenous infusion. This product is for use by veterinarians only.

Important Notes

Fresh, clean drinking water must be available immediately after treatment, as horses will actively seek water following administration.

The provision of adequate roughage will aid in preventing dehydration. Horses should receive at least 1% of body weight daily in roughage, as fibrous matter in the hindgut acts as a storage reservoir for water and electrolytes.

Key Ingredients

Per litre: Sodium chloride 38 g, sodium citrate 38 g. This provides approximately 23.2 g/L sodium ions, 28.3 g/L citrate ions and 22.4 g/L chloride ions.
