Dermcare Malaseb Evo is an evolved antibacterial and antifungal medicated shampoo for dogs and cats, formulated to cleanse the skin, reduce scale and eliminate the micro-organisms responsible for primary and secondary dermatitis. Retaining the same proven active ingredients as the original Malaseb Medicated Shampoo - 20 g/L chlorhexidine gluconate and 20 g/L miconazole nitrate - Malaseb Evo introduces milder surfactants and conditioning agents for a gentler and more skin-friendly bathing experience without any compromise on clinical effectiveness.

Malaseb Evo is indicated for the treatment of dermatitis associated with Staphylococcus pseudintermedius and Malassezia pachydermatis, and as an aid in the treatment of ringworm (dermatophytosis) infections in dogs and cats. It is registered for use in dogs and cats only and is not recommended for use in other species. Do not use in rabbits.

Why Do Pets Get Bacterial and Yeast Skin Infections?

It is normal for pets to have low numbers of resident bacteria and yeast on the skin surface. When the skin's natural ecosystem is disrupted these micro-organisms can overgrow, leading to skin disease. Common underlying causes of secondary bacterial and yeast skin infections include allergies (environmental, food or flea related), parasites such as fleas, mites and lice, and hormonal or endocrine diseases. It is important to treat both the secondary infection and any underlying condition for optimal skin disease management. If you are concerned your pet may have a skin infection, consult your veterinarian - diagnostic tests such as cytology are essential in determining which micro-organisms are present and the most appropriate treatment.

Directions for Use - Dogs

1. Wet the coat thoroughly with clean water.
2. Apply Malaseb Evo to several points on the coat and massage in gently to create a lather. A sponge may assist with lathering and penetration through the coat.
3. Use approximately 1 to 2mL per kg of bodyweight.
4. Leave on for 10 minutes. Supervise your pet during this time to avoid ingestion or inhalation of the shampoo. Distract your pet with a game, treat or short walk.
5. Rinse thoroughly with clean water.
6. Gently towel dry and brush the coat as usual.

Bathing tip for dogs: After bathing with Malaseb Evo, apply Pyohex Medicated Conditioner to the coat and massage in gently. As a leave-on conditioner, Pyohex helps replenish moisture and extends the antibacterial effects of Malaseb Evo.

Tips for Bathing Cats

1. Many cats tolerate water better when it is not running - use buckets of warm water rather than a running tap.
2. Fill 3 large buckets with warm water.
3. Gently lower the cat (not including the head) into the first bucket and apply shampoo as directed to form a lather.
4. Wrap the cat in a towel for 10 minutes to keep them warm, secure and prevent licking of the shampoo foam.
5. Once the 10 minutes is complete, sequentially lower the cat into the remaining two buckets to thoroughly rinse off all shampoo.
