Passwell Formula One Low Lactose Emergency Milk Formula 5kg
Passwell Formula One is a versatile low-lactose emergency milk formula designed for use across a wide range of species, making it an invaluable product to have on hand for wildlife carers, breeders, farmers and veterinary professionals. Formulated from low-lactose ingredients with an improved nutritional profile over standard cow's milk products, Formula One is high in whey proteins for enhanced digestibility and growth, and enriched with omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, elevated taurine levels and a comprehensive vitamin and mineral profile to support the development of young animals across many different species.
Suitable for puppies, kittens, lambs, piglets, calves, foals, cria, marsupials and zoo animals, Formula One is an easy-to-mix, highly digestible milk replacer that can be used whenever mother's milk is unavailable or limited. While species-specific milk replacers may offer better growth rates for individual animals, Formula One provides reliable broad-spectrum emergency nutrition when a targeted product is not available.

How to Make Up Formula One - Normal Strength
Mix 1 scoop of powder (7g) with 50mL of preboiled warm water. To make 1 litre of milk, mix 125g of powder (approximately 18 level scoops) with 900mL of preboiled warm water.
Add half the water to the powder first and mix to a paste, then add the remaining water and mix thoroughly. Preboil the water to ensure it is sterilised. If the water is too hot it can cause the milk to curdle - if too cold it will be difficult to disperse the powder. An electric whisk can assist with mixing. Made-up milk can be stored in the fridge for up to one day or frozen for up to two weeks.
For improved weight gain: Slowly increase milk to one and a half times normal strength - 1 scoop to 35mL of water (188g of powder plus 850mL of water to make 1 litre). If the animal develops diarrhoea, reduce the formula strength.
Feeding Guide
Warm the made-up milk to approximately 35°C and feed from a bottle with an appropriate teat. Initially feed at normal strength to ensure the milk is tolerated before gradually increasing concentration for improved weight gain.
| Body Weight | Daily Milk Volume | Body Weight | Daily Milk Volume |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100g | 40mL | 2kg | 400mL |
| 250g | 80mL | 5kg | 800mL |
| 500g | 140mL | 10kg | 1350mL |
| 750g | 200mL | 50kg | 4500mL |
| 1kg | 250mL | 100kg | 7500mL |
Important Notes on Feeding
- Success in hand rearing greatly improves if animals receive colostrum within 24 hours of birth
- During hot weather give young animals a drink of preboiled water between feeds to avoid dehydration
- Always offer drinking water once animals become mobile
- Weigh young animals regularly to verify weight gain and ensure it is in line with species expectations
- Formula One is not designed as a species-specific milk replacer - better growth rates may be achieved with a species-specific Wombaroo Milk Replacer
- Consult your veterinarian or breeder for specific advice about caring for your breed of animal
