Advantix must never be used on cats. The permethrin in Advantix is highly toxic to cats due to their inability to metabolise certain compounds, and exposure can be fatal. If you have both dogs and cats in your household, keep your cat separated from your treated dog for at least 48 hours after application and until the application site is fully dry. After this period normal interaction can resume safely.
