Melcare Manuka Wound Gel

Melcare Manuka Wound Gel™ is a sterile antibacterial gel made from 80% Leptospermum sp. (Manuka) honey and a natural emollient for easy application and patient comfort. It provides an optimal environment for wound healing while protecting against bacterial contamination.

Active Ingredients:

Leptospermum sp. Honey (AUS/NZL Manuka) – 800mg/g

Ingredients:

Mel (Leptospermum sp. Honey), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Plant Derived Hydrocolloid.

Directions for Use:

• Inspect and clean the wound using standard techniques.
• Twist off the cap and remove the security seal.
• Apply liberally - for a 10cm x 10cm wound, use 20–25g of gel.
• Apply directly to the wound or onto a suitable dressing.
• Cover with non-adherent gauze and secondary dressings as needed.
• Protect wound margins with a barrier cream if required.
• Change dressings depending on drainage - from more than once daily to up to 7 days.
• Remove using clean saline or tap water during dressing changes.

Warnings & Precautions:

• Not suitable for heavily exudating wounds or body cavities.
• Do not use if allergic to honey.
• Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
• Reserve tube for single patient use. Discard 3 months after opening.

Storage:

Store below 25°C. Sterile unless opened or damaged.
