LickiMat Cat Slomo

This revolutionary pet treat and food mat, with a waffle-like textured design, makes your cat's favourite treats and food last longer while also helping to relax and soothe your pet's anxiety or simply to cure their boredom, especially when you're away from home. The deep pockets within the cubes provide a little area for soft pet treats or even food. This allows you to better regulate your cat's food quantities during meal times.

Your cat will feel a calming and cleaning sensation as they scrape their tongue against the rough surface. The textures will aid in the removal of food particles and germs from the tongue, hence enhancing overall dental and oral health. Repeated licking also increases saliva production, which aids digestion due to the enzymes contained in saliva. You may use the Lickimat Slomo to freeze goodies (such as homemade bone broth, softened cat biscuits, and treat pastes) to offer your cat a refreshing treat to enjoy in the heat. Place a tiny quantity of wet or dry cat food in some or all of the cubes of the Lickimat Slomo to assist slow-feed your pet at mealtimes.

Benefits of Licking and Slow-Feeding Your Pet

Repeated licking can help calm and comfort your pet by generating a hormone called endorphins, which assists in relaxation and stress relief. Licking is similar to massage for your pet, thus using a Lickimat product can help your pet cope with stressful situations such as travelling to the vet or being alone at home.

Putting food to the Lickimat attracts your pet and encourages them to lick over the rough surface, which stimulates the calming hormone and keeps them focused on a specific activity. Lickimats can also assist in redirecting their licking behaviour to a specific spot rather than all over your furniture, carpets, and so on.

*Note: In some cases, if your pet’s licking has become excessive and constant, please consult your vet. Licking can be a way for your pet to ease pain due to medical conditions like arthritis or allergies. Licking may not always be because of anxiety or boredom.

Lickimats can help you slow-feed your pet. Slow-feeding is the technique of forcing your pet to eat more slowly. It is perfect for pets who gulp down their food, consume other pets' food, and/or eat their food too quickly, which can cause indigestion and even choking. Lickimats, such as the Lickimat Buddy Tuff, provide a small surface area on which to slow-feed your pet. Sprinkle kibble around the mat in the areas between the textured designs to encourage your pet eat slowly. You may also benefit from these slow-feed pet aids by managing your cat's portions. Slow-feeding can assist your pet's overall eating experience and digestion.
