Zylkene helps pets cope when facing unusual and unpredictable situations and can be used before occasions such as a change in their normal environment.
- Zylkene is a complimentary feed for cats and dogs that contains a natural product derived from casein, a protein in milk. It is a molecule well known to promote the relaxation of newborns after breastfeeding.
- Since its launch Zylkene has become a familiar product for veterinarians, behaviourists, nurses and pet owners world wide.
- It can be given daily and is both preservative and lactose free.
Why use Zylkene
- Zylkene can help support dogs and cats in situations where they find they need to adapt their behaviour to cope. These can include kennel and cattery stays, moving house, the arrival of a new pet or baby, sudden noises such as fireworks, travel or festivities.
- Many cats do not cope well in a multi-cat household. There are many ways our pets can respond to new and unpredictable situations and not all animals will respond the same way.
- Even the most seemingly innocuous situations and experiences can trigger your pet's uneasiness when they are in unusual or unpredictable situations. Different animals are not all susceptible to the same things, for example some dogs and the attention of many people at once whilst some react very differently, hiding away. Similarly, some cats love being picked up but others do not.

Administration
- Zylkene comes in three strengths:
Zylkene Capsules 75mg (30 capsules)
Zylkene Capsules 225mg (30 capsules)
Zylkene Capsules 450mg (30 capsules)
- Zylkene® is easy to give in one daily intake. The Capsules contain a palatable, water soluble powder that appeals to both dogs and cats. They can be given whole or opened and the powder mixed with food, treats or liquids. Since Zylkene is taken orally and ingested, it is present wherever the pet goes, both inside and outside the house.
- Water should always be available to your pet.
- Zylkene is palatable and easy to give: simply mix with food or give the whole capsule.
Dosage Guide
For short term use: Begin administration 1-2 days before the predicted event or change in environment. Some animals may need earlier administration (5-7 days).
For long term use: Start giving Zylkene for one month then reassess the pet. Association with a behaviour modification program may help in these situations.

Works well

Since starting this medication he seems much calmer, and is less bothered by other dogs barking in the neighbourhood. His shaking during thunderstorms has also reduced and he recovers more quickly.

Fantastic product

Zylkene for Cats Works Well!
By: Julie Magnolia on 31 May 2020The vet recommended these for our Russian Blue who was exhibiting some symptoms of anxiety. We noticed a change in his behavior after only a few days of use. He became a calmer cat. The vet advised that we can continue using these indefinitely as they are a natural alternative to stronger anti-anxiety medication. I'm a repeat customer and delivery is always fast.

Wonders of Zylkene
By: Debbie Popp on 3 May 2020My partner and I rescued an adult male cat from the RSPCA in Feb 2020. He had been severely abused in his short life and was a very scared, timid boy. After a couple of weeks and continually hiding under the bed, I spoke to a vet nurse about something that would help him. She suggested Zylkene once a day for a month or so,and see how he went. After a week of putting on his food at night, we decided to trial in the morning. We are now in May and are on the second bottle. The change in him is amazing, no more hiding under the bed, will come in for a cuddle and loves going out for a walk in the yard with his harness and lead on(I know - but it works and he doesn't try to take off). Would most definitely recommend for any animal that is experiencing anxiety and social issues.

I was not sure if it was going to be successful but it appears to have settled them both down considerably. The male has not completely stopped harassing the female altogether but their flareups have most definitely reduced and the female seems to be a lot calmer. I intend to keep using this product. The only negative thing about it is the cost. I would like to be able to purchase a larger quantity at a time making it more economical for me as I feel that these are too expensive to use on a regular basis.
