Proban is an oral medication for control of ticks, fleas and demodectic mange in dogs and for control of fleas in cats.   As fleas and ticks thrive and breed most rapidly in a warm environment, Proban should be commenced as the temperature starts to get warmer, and to be continued until the cooler weather. Daily checking of ticks is recommended, especially in high risk tick areas.

Not to be used on sick, pregnant and lactating animals or those recovering from surgery or receiving another organophosphate. Other organophosphate based products can include some collars, washes eg Malaban, Nucidol.   (if you are unsure if what you are using is going to be ok with the Proban please ask us.)

Composition Permethrin 5 g/kg, methoprene 1.5 g/kg.
 Actions Fido's Flea Bomb covers 50 m2 and gives up to nine months residual protection. The low level of permethrin kills most adult fleas present at the time of treatment, and lasts up to seven days killing any adult fleas emerging from the last generations of flea pupae. Methoprene is an insect growth regulator which prevents the development of flea larvae into adult insects.
 Indications Control of animal fleas in domestic and commercial premises for up to nine months.
 Contraindications Administration to animals. Outdoor use; ultraviolet light can inactivate the product. Administration in areas where mist cannot be contained within the premises.
 Warnings Highly flammable. Store in a cool place out of the sun.
Do not spray directly onto humans or pets, exposed food or food utensils. Avoid contact with food.
 Precautions Do not spray directly on humans or pets and ensure fish tanks are covered. Remove or cover all exposed food, food utensils and food preparation surfaces before use. Vacate the room immediately the spray commences. Do not re-enter before two hours and then allow to air for 30 minutes. Thoroughly wipe down all food preparation areas on re-entry.
Safety directions. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale vapour or spray mist.
Do not deliberately sniff this product. Sniffing may cause harm or death.
First aid. If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126. If sprayed on skin wash thoroughly. If sprayed in mouth rinse mouth with water.
Disposal. Do not incinerate or puncture the container, even when empty. Dispose of used container by wrapping in paper and placing in an industrial or domestic waste bin.
 Directions for use A 125 g can treats 50 m2.
Room preparation. Vacuum all areas before treatment and don't vacuum for five days afterwards. If wishing to shampoo your carpets during the year, do it in the winter months as shampooing removes the methoprene. Open all cupboards, drawers, etc. Remove or cover all exposed food utensils. Remove plants and pets, pet bowls and birds. Cover and turn off fish tanks. Close windows and doors. Shut off all electrical appliances including lights, refrigerators, fans and air conditioners and put out any pilot flames and naked flames. Shut off gas to gas hot water heaters.
Do not use in areas smaller than a walk-in closet (2 x 2 metres).
Treatment. Shake can well before use. Place can on newspaper, on a raised area such as a table or chair. Stand at arms length and point can away from face and press down activator tab until it locks into place. When more than one can is used, place them evenly around treatment premises.
Vacate the premises and leave undisturbed for at least two hours, then open all doors and windows and allow to air for 30 minutes. Do not switch on electrical/gas appliances or smoke before airing is completed.
For the most effective treatment, use in September and January or at intervals of nine months.
One can covers approximately two average rooms. Four cans will be needed for the average sized home, and six cans or more will be needed for large and high-set homes. For most effective results the entire house should be treated. Repeat treatment after nine months or when fleas start re-emerging.
For best results it is recommended that all pets be treated with a suitable insecticide before entering treated premises. Pets should not be excluded from the home after using the bomb as hatching or dying fleas will attack people instead.

Advocate for dogs is unique. It is the first product to treat, protect against and prevent infection by covering more aspects of parasite control than any other comparable product. Advocate is an easy to apply topical formulation that will give you the peace of mind that you want. With monthly application, you can be assured that Advocate will not only treat and control fleas, but also prevent heartworm as well as gastro-intestinal worms with the added benefit of the treatment of mites and lice, including sarcoptic mange mites. Advocate remains effective after swimming, bathing or exposure to rain.

 Composition Imidacloprid 100 g/L, moxidectin 25 g/L.
 One application lasts for a month.

 Contraindications Administration of Advocate for Dogs to cats.

The Parvac vaccine will only cover Parvovirus in dogs, and will not cover Hepatitis or Distemper. This vaccine comes as a single dose suitable for one dog. (The Manufacturer no longer makes the 10ml multidose, suitable for 10 dogs) The reason that we are able to sell this vaccine and why you can give it to your pet is because it is based on a "killed" virus.  "killed" virus vaccines can be handled by anybody.  The "live" virus vaccines are only able to be handled by a registered Veterinarian. "Live" virus vaccines include C3, C4 and C5. 

VACCINATION PROGRAMS:
Puppies: It is recommended that puppies are vaccinated at the following ages
1st Vaccine 6-8 weeks
2nd Vaccine 12-14 weeks
3rd Vaccine 16-18 weeks.

Adults/juveniles over 18 weeks: If never vaccinated before, 2 doses should be given 4 weeks apart. A yearly booster should be given to all dogs to maintain adequate immunity.

In contrast to their toxicity to insects, pyrethrins possess extremely low mammalian toxicity due to their lability in the gastrointestinal tract and rapid metabolism in the liver. They do not accumulate in mammalian tissue and are nonirritant to mammalian skin.
Piperonyl butoxide is a pyrethrin synergist which inhibits the breakdown of pyrethrins by insect enzyme systems, thus prolonging the action of pyrethrins.
N-octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide (MGK 264) is an insecticide synergist which enhances the action of pyrethrins. It acts by inhibiting microsomal oxidation and preventing the insect from denaturing the pyrethrins. MGK 264, through absorption of ultraviolet light, stabilises pyrethrins which would otherwise be rapidly broken down in sunlight. The toxicity of N-octyl bicycloheptene dicarboximide to mammals is very low.
Di-N-propyl isocinchomeronate (MGK 326) is a synthetic insect repellent with extremely low mammalian toxicity. MGK 326 acts to enhance the insect repellent properties of the pyrethrins. Clinical trials have demonstrated that MGK 326 is not present in the milk of cows sprayed with di-N-propyl isocinchomeronate.
Citronella oil is an insect repellent obtained by distillation from members of the Gramineae family. Citronella oil has been shown to enhance the residual toxicity of pyrethrins to specific insect groups.

 Actions:  Miconazole is a synthetic imidazole derivative which has a pronounced antifungal effect against Malassezia (Pityrosporum) pachydermatis, the dermatophytes Microsporum gypseum, M. canis and Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and a potent activity against Gram-positive bacteria.
Chlorhexidine has a broad spectrum of activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, yeasts, moulds and fungi.
The combination of miconazole and chlorhexidine is efficacious at killing the causative organisms of seborrhoeic dermatitis, M. pachydermatis and Staphylococcus intermedius. INDICATIONS
For the control of fleas (Ctenocephalides felis, Ctenocephalides canis) and ticks (Adult Rhipicephalus spp.only - does not control paralysis tick-Ixodes holocyclus) on dogs. An aid in the treatment of Flea Allergy Dermatitis (Summer Eczema) on dogs.
