Dermcusal

A topical anti-inflammatory containing DMSO and the natural anti-inflammatory enzymes of copper salicylate. Great for tendon and ligament sprains, shin and bone soreness, joint problems and arthritis.

Composition Each 100 mL contains copper (II) salicylate 8 g, dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) 20 mL in a nonaqueous base.
 Actions Anti-inflammatory and antiarthritic copper complex with salicylate, with DMSO to assist cutaneous absorption. Mimics the action of copper containing natural anti-inflammatory enzymes, superoxide dismutase and ceruloplasmin, to control harmful superoxide radicals at sites of inflammation and arthritis.
 Indications Tendon and ligament sprains, shin and bone soreness, joint problems and arthritis in horses and dogs.
Contraindications Administration to pregnant mares or bitches, stallions or dogs at stud or cats.
 Warnings Do not mix with other medication except on veterinary advice.
 Precautions Apply to dry skin only. Do not apply to damaged or sensitive areas of skin, or immediately before or after exercise. Do not clip or shave application site. Clean prior medications from application site. Do not bandage area after application.
Safety directions. Avoid contact with skin and eyes, and inhaling vapour. Wear protective gloves when using or mixing.
First aid. If poisoning occurs, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre. Phone Australia 131 126. If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly.
 Withholding Periods Meat. Horses: 28 days.
 Directions for use Horses. 5 mL. Dogs. 1 to 2 mL.
Paint affected area or joint using brush provided. Vigorous rubbing or massage is not required.
Tendon, ligament injuries. Apply twice daily for 3 to 5 days, then once daily as required.
Arthritis, shin soreness. Apply twice daily for 5 to 7 days, then once daily as required.
